Register for this course in Moodle (https://moodle.uni-siegen.de/), the registration key will be sent via UNISONO mail. The lecture contents are uploaded as slides in Moodle, the lecture takes place in presence. The exercise sheets are uploaded in Moodle and the solution will be discussed in presence. If further Corona safeguards come in place, the course may also be delivered in digital format. Additional information for students that study remotely will be provided in Moodle.
Goals:
Scientific Visualization is about the visual representation of simulation and measurement data from medicine, natural sciences, and technology. This lecture focusses on interactive techniques that map abstract data to visualizable geometry.
Contents:
- Grid types and interpolation
- 2D scalar fields
- Vector field topology and particle traces
- 2D and 3D flow visualization
- Direct and indirect volume visualization
- Hardware-accelerated volume rendering
The tutorial illustrates and deepens the material by means of programming examples and practical arithmetical tasks.
The project task allows the combination of different techniques in a separate small project.
